Styrofoam Cueball beat me to the punch for favorite sleeper show of '77 and i couldn't agree more: 5/13/77 is a gem. It's sandwiched between so many other great May shows it's easy to overlook but has maybe THE most underrated and gorgeous SCARLET>FIRE ever played. It may get passed over b/c the transition jam is so brief, but it's such a solid intro by Phil that it hardly matter and Jerry more than makes up for it with an elongated wah-wah intro to FIRE that just goes and goes. Also, no forgotten lyrics. The BEW, SAMSON, are also stellart. Great overall show.

Not sure if this qualifies as "sleeper", but I'll go out on a limb and say so b/c it's early May and right before the monster runs of 5/7-5/9 that everyone associates w/the best of early May '77.

What stands out in this show is another great SCARLET>FIRE (complete with a playful "China Cat" lick by Bobby during SCARLET) and one of the best COMES A TIME ever played (in fact, only the Buffalo show 5 days later surpasses it). It's caught in the middle of one of the tastiest 2nd set sandwiches ever: TERRAPIN>PLAYIN>COMES A TIME>PLAYIN REPRISE. The night before is a great sleeper show, too, with one of my favorite ever ROW JIMMY s, but there's no great SBD available. Worth checking out.

I'll also throw in 11/1/77 Detroit as a pretty nice sleeper show.

WHARF RAT fans should give this show a listen.

Much agreed on 5/4. I think 5/1 also fits in this category (I think 5/1 has my favorite Comes a Time of the year, actually).
